Built in 1911, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort has focused on building a sustainable future while also paying tribute to its past. It has its own 25,000-square-foot farm, where it grows produce used at River Room Gastropub; herb gardens to supply its other restaurants; trees where it can tap its own syrup; and an apiary for honey. It also has a craft brewery, with tours that start at the inn, and a golf course that was founded in 1911 and has been played by some of the greats. During golfing season, you'll be able to use the chip-and-putt course during your stay, and summers are accompanied by an on-site farmers market. This TripAdvisor 2014 Certificate of Excellence winner also offers plenty of outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseshoes, archery, and kayaking.
